Facebook and Google must be investigated by Congress to see the extent of the role they played in suppressing free speech with the cooperation of government agencies, according to Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.).

Gimenez joined Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria” on Friday to praise Elon Musk for exposing Twitter’s systemic censorship and call for more transparency into Big Tech platforms like Google and Facebook.
“I think, look, we need to investigate it, what role did government have in trying to suppress freedom of speech,” Gimenez explained to host Maria Bartiromo.
“Freedom of speech is one of our fundamental rights, and did government actually have an active role in doing that, in censoring people of one political persuasion or another.”
“So, we need to bring them all in. And also, look, it’s really fortuitous that Elon Musk actually bought Twitter and now is opening it up,” he continued.
“And we need to do the same thing with Facebook and Google and those other platforms because they have so much power, they wield so much power over the information that we get as Americans and so many people are influenced by what they see.”
The third installment of Elon Musk’s Twitter Files released on Friday show FBI and DHS officials coordinated with Twitter executives to censor former President Donald Trump that culminated with the suspension of his Twitter account on January 8th 2021.
Other Congressional Republicans likewise vowed to launch probes into Big Tech companies once they gain majority power in January.
Come January, Big Tech will be held accountable for their flagrant bias. https://t.co/UsT32rwBjU
